1.Long-eared jerboas look like mice.

1.1mouse名词，老鼠，复数形式为mice。

1.3remind用法
①remind sb. of sb./sth.使某人想起某事。使想使使某起来（某人或某物）
That song remind me of my mother.那首歌使我想起我的母亲。
②remind sb. to do sth.提醒某人做某事。
Can you remind me to buy a cup of tea?你能提醒我买一杯茶吗？
③remind sb. + that 从句 提醒某人……

③以上词(除by far)外，必须置于比较级形容词或副词的前面。
1.5cute[kju:t]adj. 可爱的；漂亮的；聪明的，伶俐的。
她今年14岁用英语说是：She is 14 years old. She is 14.1. 直接用数词表达，这种方式用来表达一个人的具体年龄。例如，“Lily is eighteen”，意思是“Lily今年18岁”。2. 数词+years old或years of age，这个也是。

2.1as…as意为&34;，表示同级的比较。

①使用时要注意第一个 as 为副词，第二个 as为连词。其基本结构为：as+ adj./ adv. +as。例如：
This story is as funny as that one.

②其否定式为 not as/so +adj./ adv. +as。例如：
This book is not so/as necessary as they say.这本书不想他们说的那么必不可少。
③若有修饰成分，如 twice，three times，half，a quarter 等，则须置于第一个 as 之前。例如：
Your car is twice as big as mine.
你的车是我的两倍大。
2.2“as(否定句中可用 so)＋adj./adv．＋as…”，其基本意思为“……和……一样”。但在实际应用中，此结构在不同的语境中含义差异较大。
①表示不同人或物同一性质的比较，意为“……和……一样……"。
The wall is as white as snow．
这墙面雪白雪白的。
Mike is as intellent as Ben．
迈克与本一样机智。
②表示同一个人或物不同性质的比较，意为“既……又……”
Karen talks as happily as she dances． 凯润愉快交谈，尽情跳舞。
Frank is not so wise as he is witty． 弗兰克为人风趣，但欠明智。
③用于表示两个人或物不同性质的比较，表示程度相同或相当，意为“……而……”。
He was as handsome as his wife was beautiful．他长得非常英俊，他的妻子也长得非常漂亮。
④as…as 结构的另一种形式是“as much／many＋名词＋as＋从句”。
马丁已经画了和他爸爸一样多的画。

⑥as…as 结构的另一变体形式是“as＋形容词原级＋名词词组＋as”

⑧“as+原级+as any(或 ever)”、“as+原级+as…can be”、“nothing(或 no)＋so＋原级＋as…”等结构表达的是最高级意义。即在某种程度上或某方面达到极限或最大限度。

2.4a national animal of the country.那个国家的国鸟。

①“多达”。例如：

②“不多于，不迟于”。例如：

③“可与某事物相比，比得上”。
As a doctor， he is not up to Mr. Smith.作为一名医生，他不能与史密斯先生相比。
④“有某种能力的，能胜任的”。例如：
He's not up to the part of Othello.他演不了奥赛罗这个角色。
⑤“从事于，忙于”。例如：
What's he up to？ （他要干什么？）
⑥“由……决定，由……负责”。例如：
It's up to you whether we accept the present or not.要不要这份礼物由你决定。
⑦“（时间）直到”。例如：
Up to now he's been quiet. （他直到现在还保持沉默。
⑧ “ up to ”后面接表示时间、日期的名词时，意为“跟得上形势，时髦”。例如：
Most of her clothes are up to date. （她的大多数衣服都很时髦。）
⑨ “ up to ”后面接表示刻度、标准的词语时，意为“达到某种要求或水平”。例如：
Is their spoken English up to the company's standard？他们的英语口语达到公司的水平了吗？

vt. 避免;避开，躲避;消除
avoid doing 避免做某事;逃避…
①avoid的基本意思是避开不希望发生的、不愿忍受的或不想遇上的事情。有时含有先见之明的意味。引申可表示“预防”或“防止”发生某事物。avoid所表达的意图总是达成的，否则就须用try。
②avoid是及物动词，可接名词、代词或动名词作宾语，不接动词不定式，可用于被动结构。
The old man avoided his neighbours.老人回避他的邻居。
I studiously avoided his company.
我故意避免和他来往。
He avoided answering my questions.他回避回答我的问题。
③avoid后可接动名词，不可接不定式。
You had better avoid reading in the train.句中的reading不可改成to read。
