4.3except，but，besides”用法辨析
①besides，“除了……以外（还有）”，表示一种累加关系 ，指在原来基础上再加上besides除外的人或物。
Besides Tom，Jack also went to the party.= Jack also went to the party besides Tom.
除了汤姆，杰克也参加了聚会。（Jack和Tom是累加关系）
②but和except都表示排除关系，都有“除了……以外不再有……”的含义。but强 调句子所表达意义的几乎完整性（除了but之后的瑕疵，就完美了）；except不包含，除去，即不包括 except 后面的名词，侧重的是后面除掉的部分。
4.4make stupid mistakes犯愚蠢的错误。
make mistakes/a mistake(in)(在……方面)犯错误。
by mistake错误地。
All the students are here but one.除了一个人所有学生都到了。（侧重几乎都到了）
All the students are here except one.除了一个人所有学生都到了。（侧重还有一个没到）

5.1however用作副词
这样用的however其实具有连词的功能，用以引导让步状语从句。
如：Phone me when you arrive，however late it is.你到达之后就给我打电话，不论多么晚也要打。
如：My father，however，did not agree.但是，我父亲不同意。
③表示惊奇或强调：相当于how ever的用法，其意为“究竟怎样，到底以什么方式”。
如：However did you get here without a car?
没有汽车你究竟是怎样来的呢?
5.1.2用作连词

她做什么事情都很擅长。

同义词组:be bad at 或 be poor in。
反义词组:be good at 或 do well in。

②无气力的;(身体)虚弱的;衰弱的
She is still weak after her long illness.久病之后她仍很虚弱。
