阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Nila sat alone on the bus. Her older sister,Lexi,was one seat ahead,acting as if this was the best day ever. But for Nila,it was the worst. It was the last day of swimming lessons. Test Day.

“If I pass my test,I can sign up for Junior Lifeguarding over the summer,” Nila heard Lexi telling her friend Jess.

Nila hit the back of their seat with her foot.

Lexi’s head popped up,“What are you doing?”

“I...” Nila started. Maybe she could talk to Lexi about the test. After all,Lexi had passed Level 4 several summers ago. “I’m sorry. It’s just...”

“Everything OK back there?” asked the bus driver.

“Yep.” Lexi quickly turned to face the front.

“I thought sisters should be there for each other,” Nila said in a low voice to the window.

An hour later,Nila nervously held the edge(边缘)of the pool. She didn’t know if she could swim all the way across. But the coach blew the whistle(哨子). She had no choice but to push off.

Lexi swam quickly. She’d passed Level 7! Junior Lifeguarding. “Here I come,” she thought. A kid from her class accidentally hit her,but she just smiled at him. She liked everyone right now. Nila,too - even though she’d been troublesome earlier. Where was she,anyway?

After a minute,Lexi saw her sister crossing the pool. Nila was way behind the others,and Lexi could see why. For one thing,she lifted her whole head out of the water to breathe(呼吸),instead of turning it to the side. That was a waste of energy(精力). Even worse,she wasn’t swimming straight. As Nila neared the middle of the pool,she stopped.

“Keep going,”Nexi called. “You can do it!”

Nila threw one arm forward and dragged it back. Now the other arm. When she stopped to check her position(位置),she felt discouraged. Only halfway across! Some kids in her class were already at the wall. The coach was talking to one of the kids,so he didn’t see her. “Better keep going,” she thought. But she was tired.

Lexi kept her eyes on her sister’s slow progress. Three-fourths of the way across. Nila stopped again. As Lexi watched,Nila’s head went underwater before it resurfaced. Yh,oh,thought Lexi. Her sister was in trouble,and she had to help. She started toward Nila. Nila got a mouthful of water and coughed. She felt as if she’d been swimming for hours. If only someone would see she was too tired to keep going. But nobody saw her.

妹妹的情绪发生根本改变:

由负面Negative-------------------------------------到正面positive

alone/ worst/ throw/ drag/ discouraged/ tired...--cheered up/ nic/ a good sister.

所以第二段成为故事发展的转折点(往往由负到正),一般以正能量为主。

Just then,Nila felt strong arms holding her from behind. "Lie back.” her sister’s voice said. “I’ve got you.” As they dressed,Lexi told Nila next time they went to the pool she’d teach her the right way to breathe so she wouldn’t get so tired. “With a little more practice,I know you can pass Level 4.” she added. Nila cheered up and she thought it would be nice to have a strong swimmer by her side. “You will make a good lifeguard someday,” Nila said. Lexi smiled. “Really?” Nila nodded. “Yeah,and you’re already a good sister.”

总结:

1. 通读原文,抓住原文关键信息who /when /what /where /how /why,了解和确定文章线索。

2. 注意原文中前后词汇运用的变化(往往以近义,反义组组对称的方式),掌握故事发展或人物心理变化的过程。

续写第一段写作内容通常以原文顺延的方式往下继续,第二段往往来个转折或变化(命题特点基本上如此)

运用对比词(反义词),近义词及因果关系

适当运用原文出现过的几个关键词或个别关键句,如这次原文中有句:

“I thought sisters should be there for each other,” Nila said in a low voice to the window.

那么,第二段结尾的时候我们可以运用这个句子作为姐姐对妹妹说的话:

“I assure you that I'll be always be there for you!”

加上一个always来加强语气,这样既可强化主题,又让写出的句子无误。

方法:

把单个的单词换成介词词组

把简单句换成带有从句的复合句

如:

1. 表达一个人的疲累时,可用概括描述:

she felt exhausted.

同时辅以细节描述She felt exhausted and sat by the stream,resting her aching feet.
